Indiana - a nice place to visit

I just got back from Bloomington, IN, where my awesome roommate now lives. It's a beautiful town, and moving was fun. Packing was a challenge. We miraculously fit everything she needed or wanted and probably a few things she didn't. After driving and moving in (and admiring her amazing book collection), we made dinner and brownies and watched Man on Fire. A great movie. Intense (not for the kiddies). Unfortunately the water heater wasn't working yet, so I had the joy of a cold shower in the morning (how exciting) followed by a pleasant drive back. It was a nice little adventure.

It's an interesting place. Every city worth mentioning has a college. I saw Indiana University, DePauW (apparently even more expensive than DePauL), and Wabash College (weird!!). I probably passed one church every mile, and most are having revivals this week or next. The towns feel spacious, yet cosy. I passed a skunk who didn't have the decency to die in the woods, but instead had to be dramatic and crawl into the middle of the road before collapsing in a heap to expel its last breath. Very inconsiderate of it to get in the way like that, but most of the other people are nice. I'm sure I'll be coming out with a travel guide to southwest Indiana soon.
