indulging in nostalgia

lying on thick cool green
white mythic creatures float
in a deep blue sea above

walking through clover
bees whirr by my feet
the buzz rises
into a passing airplane

splash!
a new cool space
wraps itself around me.
movement slows gracefully
as i dance in a floating world
and reach for ripples of light
on the surface.
I love summer. I love it now, but I love the summer that never was even more. Nothing ever happened in the summer I remember; nothing except running around barefoot and swimming with friends. Ah, the beauty of created memory and nostalgia. Not to say there weren't a lot of fun times; I just know I've forgotten a lot I didn't want to remember. That's probably indicative of my life philosophy - such a hedonist.

Keturah - I love your poem! Especially its vaselike shape.
